At heart Literature Across Frontiers is a network of people working together on multilateral projects. In all of our work we try to bring people together to cooperate collectively in a way that is sustainable and creates long-term opportunities and positive changes across the literary world. Multiple working and creative relationships have sprung up as a result of our initial events or networking.

We also actively provide opportunities for people working in the field of international literature to create new contacts, from the initial face-to-face conversation to online collaboration and social networking. There are several ways we do this:

  • The LAF platform brings together a range of partners based in Europe and beyond. All of our projects are undertaken by groups of partners working together. Read more about our platform members here.
  • We provide opportunities for writers and translators to come together with others from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds through our projects, festivals and workshops.
  • Publishers, festival organisers and other literary organisers have also benefited from our regular networking meetings or visits. For example we recently took a number of British publishers to Budapest and Bratislava in order for them to discover the wealth of literature in the region, meet local publishers and get to know the literary scene in order to encourage the publishing of more Slovakian and Hungarian books in English translation.
