Four poets whose work is featured in the recent anthologies from the New Voices from Europe and Beyond series will be touring the UK this October.

Violet Grigorian and Hasmik Simonian belong to the new and younger generation of Armenian poets. As Armenia and its writers opened up to Western Modernism the revered folklore tradition sparked with innovations the Soviet censorship had suppressed creating fiery confident poetry.

Josep Lluís Aguiló & Manuel Forcano were born at the tail-end of the Franco dictatorship and grew up under a democratic regime. Consquentially their work could not be more modern, comprehensive or polyphonic: politics and history cohabit with love, learned allusion and popular image, songs to the land of one’s birth and to the voyage away.
