LAF returns once more to the biggest gathering in the publishing world, the Frankfurt Book Fair. This year you can once again visit us at our stand in Hall 5.0 and we will also be holding an event, in co-operation with the Society of European Authors at the Weltempfang on Thursday 11th October: Forgotten Literatures – Lost Worlds?

Forgotten Literatures – Lost Worlds?
Weltempfang, 16:30 – 17:30, Thursday 11th October

In our era of globalised publishing and ever faster turnover of new books it is easy to forget about literary works and entire literatures that remain, for whatever reason, out of the limelight. How can we save literary works from falling into oblivion, and highlight literary gems, whether they are forgotten classics or literatures of small, remote nations?

Join us for a debate with Nanor Kebranian (Associate Professor of Armenian Studies, Columbia University, USA), Alexandra Koch (Editor of Schwob.nl website promoting modern classics to Dutch readers, Netherlands), Katrin Thomaneck (Editor of Transcript and Finnegan’s List of ‘untranslated’ literature, France), Clive Boutle (publisher, UK). Moderated by Alexandra Büchler of Literature Across Frontiers. Organised by LAF and the Society of European Authors.
