Two editors and writers – one from India and one from Wales – talk about the role of literary magazines in creating and developing literary scenes and international critical cultures.

Anjum Hasan is Books Editor at the leading Indian journal for politics and culture The Caravan and Owen Martell is co-editor of the Welsh-language literary newspaper O’r Pedwar Gwynt which is due to launch in August 2016. As well as editing literary magazines, both Anjum and Owen have each written three novels as well as a collection of short stories.

Chaired by Arwel Rocet Jones from the Welsh Books Council, this bilingual event is being organised by Literature Across Frontiers and Wales Literature Exchange – part of the Mercator Institute at Aberystwyth University, with support from Arts Council of Wales and the Creative Programme of the EU.

Tickets cost £20 including a sumptuous Spanish supper at Ultracomida and can be bought via Eventbrite.

We’ve also got some reduced tickets available for students at £15 each but you’ll need to contact us directly about these by emailing news@lit-across-frontiers.org.
