New Voices from Europe at the London Book Fair

We’ll be announcing the first Literary Europe Live selection of New Voices from Europe in a special event at the 2016 London Book Fair.
The names of ten emerging literary creators from Europe will be unveiled during a drinks reception at the Literary Translation Centre at 14.00 on Thursday 14 April 2016.
The “top ten” have been selected by an international jury drawn from among our festival partners in the Literary Europe Live project.
Over the next twelve months, the work of the selected New Voices will be promoted in a series of live and digital events across the European Union and beyond.
“Our New Voices from Europe selection will recognise emerging literary creators across all genres who have produced work of high literary quality and shown significant potential to contribute to the diverse body of European literature and find audiences abroad,” said Alexandra Büchler, Director of Literature Across Frontiers.
These emerging authors first published no longer than ten years ago in any genre – fiction, poetry, children’s books, creative non-fiction or graphic novels.
There will be a second selection of New Voices from Europe in April 2017.
Coordinated by Literature Across Frontiers, the Literary Europe Live project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, with support from Arts Council Wales and the Welsh Government through the Creative Europe Desk UK – Wales.
