Raising a Language from Stone

Vigorous and innovating, experimenting with poetic form in an exploration of the relationship between language, land, culture and society, contemporary Galician poetry has a strong presence on the literary scene of Spain, continuing a centuries-old unbroken line of literary creation in the language of the country.
Two poets, Maria do Cebreiro and Daniel Salgado, featured in a new anthology by Arc Publications, read and discuss their work with their translator, the Irish poet Keith Payne, accompanied by the musician and songwriter Su Garrido Pombo.
Presented by Literature Across Frontiers and Wales International Poetry Festival as part of the Literary Europe Live programme of events on the occasion of the launch of Six Galician Poets by Arc Publications.
