Residencies for Writers

There are a number residencies available worldwide offering writers the opportunity to encounter a new place and other artists whilst having time to focus on their work.

Databases of residency opportunities
A vital resource is ResArtis which has a searchable list of residencies for artists of all disciplines. HALMA  is a network of writers houses in Europe and TransArtists is another good resource for artist-in-residence opportunities. The Alliance of Artists Communities is an American organisation offering information on residencies for artists of all disciplines and a list of residencies which are offered.

We’ve also got a comprehensive lists of writers and literary translators residencies on our Pinterest board.
