Ann Matthews

Ann Matthews is in the process of moving back to Wales from the North Pennines where she has been working as a gardener and writing short fiction and poetry about place and identity. She has had two collections of poetry (Strangeways, 2014, and Losing Boundaries, 2016) published by Knives Forks and Spoons, and has completed a third, Home Turf, a memoir of place, which will be published later this year. Ann is currently working on a multi-media project, A/bout, which pulls together her work as a practice-led academic in Creative Writing and her work as a bi-lingual avant-garde musician. It explores the performance potential of the page, finding effective ways to interpret words through voice, music and image to reflect place and belonging.
