Ruth Martin

Ruth Martin translates fiction and non-fiction from German. Recent books include Michael Köhlmeier’s Two Gentlemen on the Beach, and Thinking Without Banisters, a volume of Hannah Arendt’s essays and interviews. She is currently co-translating Nino Haratischwili’s 1200-page epic The Eighth Life. Ruth also teaches translation at the University of Kent. She is a member of the Translators Association committee, and helps to run the Emerging Translators Network, a forum for early-career literary translators.
