Finnish Literature Exchange (FILI)
Finnish Literature Exchange (FILI) is an expert and export organisation, which supports the translation, printing and publication of literature and promotes awareness of Finnish literature abroad. They provide information to the general and professional public, travel bursaries, grants and seminars for translators of Finnish literature, participate in book fairs, publish promotional and information material including ‘Books from Finland’, an English language magazine available online and promote Finnish authors and literary scholars abroad.
Foreign publishers can apply to the grants fund for the cost of translating the literature of Finland into other languages. FILI also offers grants to translators to cover translation samples. Printing costs are available to foreign publishers to cover the cost of printing children’s books and comics in foreign languages. Translators can apply for sample translation grants and travel grants.
