KulturKontakt Austria (KKA) is a European centre of competence and resources whose core areas of activity are cultural education in Austrian schools, international educational cooperation, and international residency programmes for artists from abroad. The Service Centre for International Mobility Programmes implements activities in the context of the initiative “weltweit unterrichten” (Teaching Worldwide) of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, the Arts and Culture. KKA focuses geographically on Austria as well as on Eastern and South Eastern Europe. KulturKontakt supplies grants for translators or publishers for the translation of Austrian literature into an East European language, as well as for the publication of new East European literature in Austria. Scholarships for up to two months’ stay in Vienna are also granted to writers from the Central and Eastern European countries.
