Bridging Cultures Through Poetry

Bridging Cultures Through Poetry is a collaboration between Literature Across Frontiers and Sing Lit Station bringing eight multilingual poets from Europe and Southeast Asia to cross-translate one another’s work into a variety of different languages, comprising of Chinese, French, Latvian, Malay, Spanish and Tamil.

Singapore poets Subhashini Kalaikannan, Hamid Roslan and Tse Hao Guang are joined by Afi Noor (Malaysia), Juana Adcock (Mexico/Scotland), Nathalie Ronvaux (Luxembourg), Pierre Vinclair (France/Singapore) and Arvis Viguls (Latvia) to explore each other’s poems through translation and discussion about the themes and contexts of their poetic practice.

Held at a remote house in Malaysia from 31 Oct to 5 Nov 2017, the project will culminate in a presentation of at the Singapore Writers Festival.
