In winter 2013 teamed up once again with its long-term partner, the Latvian Literature Centre, to hold a translation workshop in connection with the Prose Readings, a winter festival that takes writers to meet their readers all around the country. The translation workshop brought together five young prose writers who spent a week in Riga discussing and translating each other’s work: Alba Dedeu from Catalonia, Jaap Krol, a Frisian writer from the Netherlands, Jaroslav Rumpli from Slovakia, Jana Šrámkováfrom the Czech Republic, and, on home ground, Vilis Kasims.

The workshop was made possible by the kind support of the Latvian Culture Endowment, Centre for Information on Slovak Literature, Dutch Literature Foundation and Institut Ramon Llull.
