TORMENTES NOCTURNES
Dalguién acordábanos siempre
cuando llegaben les primeres
lluvies de cada iviernu.
Sentíemos venir
l’agua dende lloñe,
quedándose pasín ente pasu
pa tola estación
nos nuesos oyíos.
Aquelles nueches
—con cada un
de los rellumos—
cuántes veces alborecía.

NIGHT STORMS
Someone always woke up us
when the first rains of every winter
came.
We heard the water
getting closer from afar,
curling up little by little
in our ears
for the whole season.
Those nights
—with every lightning—
how many sunrises they were.

NACHTSTOARMEN
Altyd makke ien ús wekker
wannear’t yn elke winter
de earste rein kaam.
Wy hearden it wetter
tichterby kommen út `e fierte,
bytsje by bytjse
foar it hiele seizoen
opkroljend yn ús earen.
Dy nachten
– by elk himelfjoer –
hoefolle sinne-opgongen wienen it.
