Mohamed Berrada and Mohamed Choukri
Mohamed Berrada was born in 1938 in Rabat, Morocco. He is a novelist, literary critic and translator. From 1976 to 1983, he was President of the Moroccan Writers’ Union, and currently teaches Arab literature at the Mohammed V University in Rabat.
Mohamed Choukri was born in 1935 in the mountains of Ayt Chiker, Nadar Province, Morocco. Choukri is best known for his autobiography, For Bread Alone (translated into French in 1980 by Tahar Ben Jelloun), and for other autobiographical texts. He died in 2003.
