Sigurbjörg Þrastardóttir

Sigurbjörg Þrastardóttir (Iceland, 1973) is the author of eight poetry collections, two novels and several staged plays. Amongst her publications is the poetry cycle Blysfarir (Torch Marches), nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2009, also available in German and Swedish. Her poems are frequently translated for her appearances in poetry festivals in Europe and beyond, and she has collaborated internationally with other poets, composers and photographers. Her latest book is the flash fiction collection Mæður geimfara (Mothers of Astronauts), published in 2020. She lives in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, where she also writes cultural columns for radio and print.
