Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival 2012 and translation workshop

Writers from nine countries will come together at this year’s Mediterranean Literature Festival. The 2012 festival focus is “Dieta kontra l-Kriżi” or “Crisis Fare” but will also continue to follow the revolutions in Arab countries, most notably Syria and Libya. This year’s line-up of writers, who will join musicians and filmakers, include: Suad Amiry (Palestine), Glen Calleja (Malta), Selma Dabbagh (UK), Marina Espasa (Catalonia, Spain), Costanza Ferrini (Italy),Claudia Gauci (Malta), Ghazi Gheblawi (Libya/UK), Golan Haji (Syria), Brane Mozetic (Slovenia), Kallia Papadaki (Greece), Lawrence Schimel (Spain),Murad Shubert (Morocco/Malta), Suzana Tratnik (Slovenia) and Yzu (Italy). The festival is a co-operation between Literature Across Frontiers and Inizjamed with support from various funders. Watch a short film clip about the festival…

The festival coincides with the seventh annual Malta LAF and Inizjamed Literary Translation Workshop during which the participating writers will translate each other’s works.
