About our research

As part of our mission we contribute to research into the publishing of literature in translation across Europe and and the related infrastructure and financial support.

Our ongoing contact with organisations promoting their national literatures, fostering literary exchange and supporting translation puts us in a unique position from which we can maintain an overview of the field of literary translation. We are regularly invited to speak on the subject at various international gatherings and organise related events, from panel debates to seminars and conferences.

Literature Across Frontiers is a member of several key European networks: ENLIT – European network of  organisations supporting literary translation, the advocacy organisation Culture Action Europe, the European Civil Society Platform for Multilingualism originally established by the European Commission and now operating as an independent entity. We were an active member of the the Anna Lindh Foundation Network until the the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union and consequently from the Union for the Mediterranean.
