Ulysses’ Shelter : An Evening of Poetry Exchange with Elan Grug Muse, Iestyn Tyne and Goran Stamenic

On October 7th, 2021, in cooperation with Llety Arall and Palas Print, Caernarfon we held an evening of poetry readings and conversation with two local poets, Elan Grug Muse and Iestyn Tyne, and our visiting Ulysses’ Shelter resident from Serbia, Goran Stamenic.
During the conversation, all three discussed their experiences as poets writing in “smaller” languages , of translating and being translated and also the themes of hope, anger in water their work. Prior to the event, Iestyn had worked with Goran to translate some of his poems into Welsh and these were also read aloud.
The event was held in Welsh, English and Serbian in front of a small audience at Y Lle Arall, and also streamed live on Zoom to those who registered in advance.. Recordings of the evening, including one with a simultaneous English audio translation can be found below.
