Fflur Dafydd
Fflur Dafydd is a bilingual (Welsh/English) screenwriter, singer and novelist. To date (2016), she is the author of five novels and one collection of short stories. She is the creator and sole writer of TV series Parch for S4C, which is currently on its second series. A film adaptation of her novel ‘Y Llyfrgell’ (The Library Suicides) – which she wrote and co-produced with BAFTA-winning director Euros Lyn – will be released in Autumn 2016.
A Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Swansea University, Ffur is also a singer-songwriter who has produced four albums. She has won numerous awards, including the Daniel Owen Memorial Prize, the Prose Medal at the National Eisteddfod and the Oxfam Hay Emerging Writers’ Award at the Hay Festival. In 2010, she was named Female Artist of the Year at the BBC Radio Cymru Awards. She is the first Welsh-language Chair of Wales PEN Cymru.
